The Acura TSX happens to be one of the basic luxury cars from the house of Acura/Honda. Initially it was launched only in the Canadian and North American markets.
The TSX label has been derived from the CL-series Accord, and it was marketed with a similar suspension and body styling as that of the European Accord. It entered the market along with its sibling Acura TL, which was in turn based on the USDM Accord and JDM Honda Inspire models.
The TSX was also marketed as Accord Euro in Australian & New Zealand markets. The TSX is now available practically anywhere, along with the many features and options that can be chosen to accomodate it.
First generation (2004–2008)
Equipped with 2.4 L V4 engine, capable of delivering 205 hp (153 kW), the first generation TSX had a wheelbase of 105.1 inches and curb weight of 3,318 lbs, while its length, width and height were about 183.3, 69.4, and 57.3 inches respectively.
With double wishbone front and rear multi-link, the Acura YSX was fine tuned to improve upon cornering speed and handling. During 2005, it was upgraded with high end luxury features like illuminated the steering wheel-mounted audio controls, XM Satellite Radio, and heated door mirrors, while most of the other aspects remained the same.
During 2006, it was featured with sportier exterior styling, and it also received a minor 5hp uplift in the engine power. Multi-information Display (MID) in the instrument panel, as well as enhanced safety features were the salient features of 2006 TSX.
Additional features like improved electronic rear view mirror, and tire pressure monitoring system were added in 2007, while the 2008 model marked the introduction of new colors to the TSX.
Second generation (2009)
After a complete redesign, the 2009 Acura TSX was unveiled at the 2008 New York International Auto Show.
It was the largest one in the line-up of TSX cars, marking a 2.4 inches increase in length, 3.0-inch increase in width, and 1.3-inch increase in wheelbase.
The Second Generation TSX reflects features and specifications offered in previous models. It receives a larger design, from changes to the wheelbase to interior and exterior dimensions.
